The Musiques échange event brings together musicians from Quebec and Belgium. It is co-presented by Code d’Accès, Productions SuperMusique and the Vooruit in Gand (Belgium). Two groups, White Wine / Dark Grapes (Belgium) and Flammèches (Quebec), will perform together and separately.
White Wine / Dark Grapes (Belgium): A meeting of musicians with very different backgrounds, who alternately oppose and blend in with each other. The results are in turn aerial, dancing, earthly and raw. A sound journey more focused on emotion than reason.
Flammèches (Québec): This ensemble’s musicians are some of the most active on the international new music circuit. Their vocabulary evolved from a blend of pop, ethnic and serious music influences, the use of improvisation through the use of raw and impure materials, the integration of new techniques and technologies, and the renewal of composers’ approaches through the act of performing.
