Duncan MacAskill is a visual artist born in Clydebank. He studied drawing and painting at Glasgow School of Art. Although he thinks of himself as a painter he works in other disciplines — dance, performance installation, sculpture, theatre and opera. He has collaborated with a wide range of artists including Martin Duncan, choreographer Laurie Booth and composer Gavin Bryars. He has had numerous exhibitions including shows at Reeds Wharf Gallery, Tower Bridge, London; Djanogly Art Gallery, University of Nottingham; Acoustic Shadows at the Wapping Hydraulic Pumping Station; L’Ecole des Beaux Arts, Quimper, France and Off The Wall at the Art Space, Sadlers Wells, London.
