- Composer • Performer (electronics) • Improviser
Dominic Jasmin is an improviser and electroacoustic composer from Montréal. His work explores the boundaries between free improvisation and acousmatic music, bringing the accidental and unpredictable nature of the former to the studio techniques of the latter. The result has been qualified of «formed noise» and «expressionist maximalism».
He maintains two distinct approaches to his music, one with found sound sampling and computer processing, the other with guitar and hardware synthesizers.
He is also a member of the improvised noise duo Chayer/Jasmin.
