Anthea Haddow

Anthea Haddow studied at the Royal Scottish Academy for Music and Drama where she received several awards including the Violoncello Prize and the Governors Recital prize for Chamber Music. Her collaborations include work with composers Craig Armstrong and Michel Boyd. Since 1994 Anthea Haddow has been involved in Cryptic’s productions most recently creating a score for Black over Red, written for the Latvian Radio Choir. Since 1997 she has been the company’s Musical Director. In 2000 she received a Year of the Artist award and in 2002 was short-listed for a Creative Scotland Award. She has written music for 3 cellos and countertenor which was performed at Dundee Rep in October 2002. Future work includes a choral mass for the Dunedin Consort, a solo trumpet and electronics collaboration with the trumpet player Mark O’Keefe.
