Since studying with scholarships to the Royal College of Music and the Royal Northern College of Music, Aberdeen-born Donald Gillan has performed extensively abroad including tours of Japan, Spain and Germany with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. He also freelances with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra (with whom he took part this year in three prom concerts at the Royal Albert Hall), Scottish Opera Orchestra and various other groups and ensembles. In theatre, Donald has worked as composer/musician for Raindog, Grid Iron theatre companies and performed at the Edinburgh Festival with Theatre Cryptic’s Journeys and Memories.
