Marc-Alexandre Brûlé

  • Performer • Visual artist (optical illusion, lighting)

Marc-Alexandre develops a global approach to stage mediums using the Illusion as the pivotal point, it is both form and background, the medium as well as the means. Works such as L’An de Main and Fantasmagoria (2000-01) mark the beginning of his research to create a contemporary Illusionism, followed in 2004, by the creation and direction of CLARA at Théâtre La Chapelle. As head of lighting, Marc-Alexandre has collaborated on various touring shows with companies such as Cirque Éloize and Théâtre Sans Fil (2002-2006) as well as on the creation of Les Revenantes (Héloïse Depocas: ÉNC, Cinars / La Tohu, Rideau 2007, Vue Sur la Relève 2007). He is a graduate of Cégep de Saint-Hyacinthe’s Theatre School in Scenography and has studied Illusionism with American magicians Jeff McBride and Eugene Burger. This project is his second collaboration with Diane Labrosse.
