About this series

Founder of the very influent GROUND ZERO, Otomo Yoshihide has developed a growing interest for electronic minimalism based on sound waves. He will be coming to Canada and the US in October to present a solo work based on feedback generated by electric guitar and turntables. He will take part in Vancouver’s New Music Festival, Winnipeg’s Send and Receive and open Seattle’s Earshot Jazz Festival.

He will then meet with his accomplice Martin Tétreault, with whom he released, in 2003, a cd called "Studio - Analogique - Numérique", in which they focus on phonograms and the devices that transform them. Together they will open Montréal’s “SuperOption 2” series, before heading on to Québec, New York and Boston.

With the assistance of the Japan-Canada Fund, a gift to the Canada Council for the Arts from the government of Japan.
