Jean Derome is surrounding his trusty Dangereux Zhoms (Cartier, Dostaler, Tanguay, and Walsh) with 7 extra seasoned musicians, and he is taking this dream team through the sinuous paths of two recent compositions: Plates-formes and Traquenards. These pieces consist of a subtle combination of written structures for virtuosos and areas for the intelligence of these 12 improvisers to get busy. Derome, the brilliant composer, proves to be quite a leader at the steering wheel of musique actuelle. This beautiful concert was first presented at the last Festival International de Musique Actuelle de Victoriaville. Here’s an opportunity to catch up or see it again!
