About this eventThe people who saw Elliott Sharp at the last FIMAV festival know what the man is about. This sonic researcher who can switch from hardcore to minimalism is a key member of the New York new music scene, alongside John Zorn and Zeena Parkins. Sharp, who has not been in Montréal since 2002, will be playing with Antoine Berthiaume, one of our most promising guitarists. BASE is an impressive duo where sound waves criss-cross, evoking Xenakis’ architectures and intensity. The opening set will feature a blistering trio gathered by Philippe Lauzier. Subtle and resourceful musicians, whose noise-based and poetic approach conjures up the sonic environments of abandoned factories.
