About this event

In order to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Productions SuperMusique, artistic directors Joane Hétu, Diane Labrosse and Danielle Palardy Roger — founding members of the groups Wondeur Brass, Les Poules, Justine, and the Ensemble SuperMusique — have designed the musical event Orchestra Palimpsest, Scratched, Cut, Pasted and Transformed Scores.

Drawing inspiration from the music written since the Wondeur Brass collective, all the way up to recent compositions, Orchestra Palimpsest offers a rewritten, remixed and transformed look at that music. This event will showcase the main currents in musique actuelle as Productions SuperMusique has been presenting them since 1979.

The three works included in the program of Orchestra Palimpsest will also offer an acousmatic experience. The music performed live by the Ensemble SuperMusique will be treated in real time by sound engineers Bernard Grenon and Martin Léveillé, and diffused by electroacoustician Jean-François Denis over a set of loudspeakers spread among the audience.
