About this event
Flammèches is a six-piece band of the most adventurous musicians on the Montréal
“musique actuelle” scene. Noisy, theatrical and colourful, this ensemble toys with
Dadaist poetry, “art brut” and naïve art, daily-life sounds old and new, traditional
songs and astrological tunes… allthewhile referencing pop, jazz and contemporary
music along the way. Flammèches consists of two sax players, two percussionists and
two noisicians who all vocalize too. The result is something of a happening.
Flammèches’s performers are in turn composers and bandleaders. The group makes use of
every sound instrument or material available in order to manufacture or question
music.
