About this event

In 1987, Les Poules performed in Montréal, Alma and Victoriaville (at the Festival International de Musique Actuelle). The group consists of three fifths of Wondeur Brass: Joane Hétu, Diane Labrosse and Danielle Palardy Roger. This experience running in parallel with Wondeur Brass exploits thoroughly the concepts of freedom of speech, self-provocation and spontaneity.

The group’s name and the title of their LP “Les contes de l’amère loi” set the tone for their anti-seductive songs filled with their language and musical wordplays. The group’s music first manifested itself as an LP laying down programmed music and improvisation side by side, but the trio also applies the same approach - open-form canvases and extreme improvisation - to its performances.
