About this event
The delicate chemical reaction that would create the boldly named group Wondeur
Brass took place in the fall of 1980. After a few concerts, including one at the
Polonaise Hall for the Montréal Librairie des Femmes’ 5th anniversary, the city’s
first-ever all-women band chose its orientation and settled its line-up.
Their music is wild, with strong currents of traditional and fanfare music, and a
tendency to experiment. Instruments used belong mostly to the brass family.
